Tic-Tac-Toe App

Created using React Native this is a simple Tic Tac Toe game. There is a score board on top of the board showing the X score and the O score. I left the comments I wrote because it was helpful for me while building it. In case someone views the code who isn’t familiar with React it will be easier for them to identify each section.

Weather Web Application

This is a web application I decided to build using React.js. I used a global weather API to pull the goal information shared by weather doppler radar stations around the world. At the top of the page there’s a search bar function user can navigate to in order to search by location anywhere in the world to find out what the current weather is there. The information is pushed using the OpenWeather API and once displayed the background images change determined by if the location is warm (≥60°F) or cold (≤59°F).

Safety Training Program (MSE)

After an on the job death of a coworker I took it upon myself to create A new safety program for the entire organization. Fueled by obligation for improvement, I would only work on my project outside of work “off the clock”. I created this Project to help protect others and prevent anything like this from happening again. Due to the serious nature of its inception I really poured my heart and soul into this program. The link attached is to my final proposal that was meant to encompass what I was working on.

West Arvada Dog Park Video

This is a video I created to showcase a project my Parks team and I worked on. The idea of the video was to show a before and after of the areas we focused on. I hoped this video would allow the public to connect more with what role the Parks Dept takes in our community as well as give insight into why the project took an entire month for us to complete. I used Fivver for to hire a voice actor to read the script I had written. This voice over was used as an overlay in the video to help shift directions of the scenes. In the end of the video is a cartoonish illustration of the parks map.

"Simon's Adventure" 2D Unity Game

This project was inspired by a Lex Friedman podcast where he’s discussing a lone “deranged” penguin breaking the mold and leaving the safety of ones society to venture out into the unknown. I really resignated with this idea of leaving the pack to journey out into the new in search of something greater than the tribe. I thought the premise could make a really interesting video game premous. The game is currently under development at this time. I’m using the Unity engine and writing in C# to create the physics and functions. As of now i’m working on the most time consuming aspect of this project, creating the pixel art and animations for the characters and objects.

Once the game is finished it will be published on Steam as free to play

Upcoming Projects

I have such a long list of projects and goals for myself, I like to keep track of them by writting them down on a note pad and once one ends I will move on into the next.

One idea for an IOS application I want to create soon is an alarm clock app that functions like a normal alarm clock and once the alarm that you set goes off the only way to turn it off is by playing a short puzzle. Something like Sudoku, Tic, Tac, Toe, or a short word search. I think a lot of people set more than one alarm clock on their phone because when they wake up they like to keep hitting the snooze button or turn off the alarm not meaning to. This app would force the user to engage their brain as soon as they wake up so that they stay awake and be more ready for each day.
